Crossing the boundaries of disciplines, only to connect to a broader world.
Welcome to my personal homepage — I'm Ray~ This is a place for you to get to know me comprehensively. I don't strictly subscribe to the MBTI philosophy, but given its popularity for quickly gauging personality, I'll mention that I currently test as an INTP, for reference only.
Born in 2007, I am currently a freshman majoring in Communication Engineering at North China University of Technology. While my major lies in communications, the field where I invest the most energy — and hold the most passion — is software development.
My bond with programming began in my earliest childhood: starting with block-based platforms like Scratch, and progressing to EV3 robots and Arduino UNO boards. I remember building a diverse array of EV3 robots — color sorters, stair-climbers, and tracked vehicles. My crowning achievement back then was a robot that could solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube, though I vividly recall the color scanning being rather unstable. Even though that machine is now covered in dust and no longer boots, I haven't had the heart to take it apart; it remains with me to this day.
In 3rd or 4th grade, Arduino's C language became my first "real" programming language and my introduction to the world of embedded development. What started as simple projects like breathing LEDs and quiz buzzers evolved into an ultrasonic obstacle-avoidance car with a pan-tilt mount. That car was featured in the school newspaper and eventually donated to the school for exhibition.
In 2018, I participated in the Silk Road International Youth Robotics Competition with a smart fish food dispenser. This led me to C++ and the Informatics Olympiad (OI). During middle school, I co-developed a "Roasted Sweet Potato" mod project; we were even approached with a contract to purchase the source code for the NetEase version of Minecraft. Though that contract has expired and the project was shelved due to academic pressure, it remains a vivid, cherished memory.
During my three years of high school, I barely touched a line of code, dedicating myself instead to biological research. Last September, I entered the world of HarmonyOS, becoming a developer and contributing to the "HarmonyOS Application Dashboard" project. In just six months, the project has gained significant recognition. I am currently pushing its progress: the app is in the invitation testing phase and will launch soon, with future plans to expand to macOS and Android.
Beyond the application layer, I am currently diving into OpenHarmony Hi3861 embedded development. For me, this isn't just hardware tweaking; it’s about thoroughly mastering device-side capabilities and system engineering from the ground up. In web development, I’ve built my personal site, a mod repository, an Identity V fan site, and an Agrobacterium transformation experiment site. My current technical stack includes C, C++, Java, Rust, HTML, ArkTS, Swift, and openGauss. I view participating in various projects as my primary form of entertainment and aim to continue expanding my linguistic versatility.
Biology is another window through which I explore the world. Two exceptional biology teachers in high school were the catalysts for this connection. Through their profound professional expertise, they transformed me from a mere enthusiast into an independent researcher. Under their mentorship, I led my high school's first-ever PCR experiment, bringing advanced lab work into the classroom. I’ve written several short papers and co-authored a hypothesis on proteins acting as hereditary factors in specialized organisms. Although my carbon assimilation reviews and orange-plate research are temporarily on hold, I’ve found that using code to articulate biology is equally fascinating. Biology remains a "beauty of regret" for me; given the chance, I hope to explore the path of bioinformatics in the future.
Outside of code, I am an avid runner and cyclist, with my camera and drone being essential companions. For me, the joy of photography lies far beyond the final image; it’s in the creative process—shifting perspectives, experimenting with narrative styles, and innovating upon existing foundations.
Regarding hobbies, I once held a Level 6 certificate in trumpet, though I’ve admittedly lost the skill (). I self-taught piano in middle school and can still play several pieces. I also enjoy flight simulation and Rubik's Cubes—the 4x4 is my favorite, followed by the Megaminx. Music is an inseparable part of my life—a background that filters noise and a resonance that syncs with my inspiration while coding or debugging. I am a die-hard F1 fan; Mercedes-AMG is my home team, and Lewis Hamilton is my favorite driver. While I still adore pure performance machines like the Porsche 911 and AMG, I keep a close watch on the cutting edge of domestic new energy vehicles.
I am a heavy "tech-head" and digital enthusiast. I find myself constantly jumping between Apple's hardcore technology and Huawei's innovative aesthetics; if there's a launch event, I'm certainly in the livestream. In the Android camp, vivo is my favorite. For computers, I am a loyal advocate of ARM and Apple Silicon. Despite some inconveniences, the MacBook's battery life and portability perfectly hit my core productivity requirements for coding and imaging. For photography, I favor Hasselblad, Sony, and DJI as extensions of my vision.
In gaming, I'm a veteran Minecraft player and something of a "Genshin Scholar." Recently, I've been playing Arknights and Arknights: Endfield, while remaining active in rhythm games like Arcaea and Phigros (and occasionally Milthm, maimai, Lanota, and Rizline). In Identity V, I reached Peak Tier VII (31 stars) in Season 36, earning three Mad Eyes A-badges (peaking at A47). In Clash Royale, I love the Golem archetype, specifically my self-built Clone-Golem deck.
Despite being a science student, I have an intense curiosity about world cultures. My background in English speech competitions and two years of British Parliamentary (BP) debate provided a solid linguistic foundation. Recently, I've been learning French. From the ethereal singing of Cécile Corbel to the romantic vistas of Fontaine; from the flowing melody of "La Vaguelette" to the classic dialogues of "Romeo and Juliet"—the charm of the French language drives me deeper into its waters.
Whether building order in the world of 0s and 1s or finding patterns in the double helix of biology, I believe cross-disciplinary exploration broadens the boundaries of life. If you share a curiosity for technology, biology, or this diverse world, feel free to reach out.
Nice to meet you on this voyage called "growing up."

Turning passion into projects, and projects into lasting works.
Projects I lead or contribute to — research, development, and open source.
Powered by Shenjack!
A full-stack project that fetches, processes, analyzes, and displays all app and meta-service data from the HarmonyOS AppGallery.
I mainly work on the frontend web development and software development. Current main project, continuously updating…
Papers and experiment records in biology, including PCR, protein hypotheses, carbon assimilation review, orange-plate experiments, and an interactive Agrobacterium web demo.
I really liked biology in high school, but ended up not majoring in it. Most of this stuff is honestly kind of bs lol
Farming meets magic!
A Minecraft mod co-developed with @teddyxlandlee, adding sweet potatoes, farming stations, grinders, Magic Cube, enchanted crops, and more.
One of my earliest projects, though it hasn't been maintained in a while.
Embedded development practice based on OpenHarmony Hi3861 dev board.
My first serious embedded project since playing with Arduino as a kid.
Still exploring…
Mostly @shenjack's project — I'm just here for the ride (not really). A Python-made Simple Rocket-like game (rocket simulator). Lighter than the original SR.
Physics competition project. This experiment linearly converts nanoampere-level weak photocurrents sensed by sensors into voltage signals through a transimpedance amplifier circuit, and utilizes dual noise suppression techniques of metal Faraday cage shielding and terminal digital averaging filtering, achieving high signal-to-noise ratio real-time data acquisition and physical quantity quantification with Arduino and a 16-bit ADC.
Fun little things I wrote casually or for classmates and friends ()
A Dream of Red Mansions troupe's year-end 2023 remake project. I served as director, cinematographer, and editor (so you could call it "full-stack development" lol).
2024/11/11 whn's birthday party project. An unforgettable experience — from storyboarding to filming to editing, the final result was actually pretty good!
My first InDesign project, yet executed exceptionally well. Revised through numerous versions, even added an NFC tag to the yearbook that links to a website. Features the memorable "Sending You a Little Red Flower" and our group graduation photo.
A webpage I built with lyx back when we grinded Survivor to Tier VI. Still has tons of bugs but I don't care anymore — keeping it as a memento lol

A little test a classmate came up with — I helped build the web frontend (still WIP). Two-person anonymous quiz, three dimensions, quantifying your emotional match.
Various course assignments and final papers required by school. Most of them are pretty shallow and not very useful.
If we aim in the same direction, let us build it together.
